Wow Dove. You didn’t need that little surprise. I’m reminded of a saying that one is my favourite authors used to write ā€œ testosterone poisoningā€. We often see risky driving from males who are aged between 18 and 25. 😳. We have a few further down our road. Ā Hope your neck settles.

  • Morning all,

Oh dear @Dovefromabove, exactly what you didn't need. I hope you feel ok this morning. What a pain having to search for a suitable new car too.Ā

I had a puncture on Thursday evening, and yesterday at the garage they said I needed a whole new tyre, a set in fact, so that was 230€ I didn't want to spend just two weeks before we go skiing. Always something. šŸ™„

My lunch with new chap's daughter went very well, she was a bit quiet at first but very pleasant. He'd said she was a bit worried about him having a girlfriend, very protective of him, by the end of the lunch though we were chatting away nicely and apparently afterwards she'd said she really liked me and wished us luck.Ā

I invited him around for coffee on Saturday morning to meet Charlie. He's told me to check it's ok with Charlie this evening when he gets back from school and as long as Charlie is ok with it he'll come. He so very thoughtful.

I am trying to not be swept off my feet @ Ergates, we have both said that everything needs to go slowly. I didn't invite him to my party, I only met him a couple of days before, most everyone was English and he can't speak English, I thought it would just prove too difficult, however, we do have several mutual friends and they all vouch for his integrity.šŸ¤ž

I really am too busy to get very seriously involved with anyone. It's just nice to have someone to talk to and go out with. I am deliberately limiting the number of messages I send @tui as well, trying to be 'cool' about it all. šŸ˜… I know what you mean though. šŸ˜…

Anyway, work calls, three deliveries this morning and a wedding cake to ice.Ā

Have a good day all. 😘😘

    Good morning all

hope Dove had a good sleep.
The sky seems to be opening up but it will rain again this afternoon. Is everything ok with the snow some of you had yesterday?
I have aquagym to go to this morning and nothing else for the rest of the day unless I saw some coleus. OH is cooking lunch and dinner today: amatriciana pasta and this evening lemon trout with tatters. Not a common occurrence him cooking twice in a day.Ā

Be well and safe all of you.

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
Another day … and it’s not raining … yet …

Your new friendship sounds lovely @D0rdogne_Damsel … my two penn’orth (for what it’s worth) is, enjoy the companionship … and don’t rush things … savour it slowly 😊

Ā I didn’t sleep too badly … but my neck’s not great … I’ll speak to the GP and see what she says. I’m due for a meds review too so heed to phone the practice. Ā

Otherwise it looks as if my day will be taken up with phone calls re insurance and getting to grips with the new car … it’s a bit of an ā€˜all singing and dancing’ Ā and 4WD sort of thing.Ā

Normally I’d go to the farm shop today but I can always leave that until tomorrow if I want to … we’ve got stuff in the freezer that’ll do for today. Ā OH has booked a cab to get to work to take the pressure off me. 😊

Have a good day folks. 😊

11C here this morning, and a bit of sun. It rained heavily last night, but only one road closed report in the local paper. Hard to imagine heavy snow further north, as it’s so relatively warm here.
No plans for the day. Ought to get outside and do some clearing. And I ought to do that before any routine housework, otherwise I’ll be tired out and fed up, and will feel I’ve wasted the day.Ā
Sounds like you will be having plenty of fun, @D0rdogne_Damsel!
Dont get spoilt by the rental car, @Dovefromabove! But it’s always interesting to try out something new.
Hope everyone managing to keep warm and dry.

Good morning all, grey and drizzly here again after more torrential rain overnight.
Had a lazy morning so far and our friend is getting ready to leave, he lives in Essex so a fairly long drive for him. I'm very pleased that he's taking all the contents on our wonky woodstore with him, a bootload full. Quite a surprise that OH suddenly gave in and said he could have the lot. We haven't used any of the wood for years and years, it was just our backup if the CH failed. I will be able to move my potting table and will give me much more room around it. Win, win.

Hope you can get in and see your GP quickly @Dovefromabove and you're not suffering too badly this morning.

That's a wedding in a hurry @D0rdogne_Damsel! I wonder why the happy couple left the cake so late, perhaps they had been let down?Ā  Your new friend sounds very nice, let's hope Charlie likes him too.Ā

Sounds like the Midlands have serious flooding so I'd better ring my sister and see how she is. I don't think the snow got that far. I laugh when the media get all panicky over 3" of snow in Scotland, what do they expect, it's still winter and it's Scotland for goodness sake.

Hope everyone had a good day.

Chilly and foggy over the fields here today. At least the heavy rain we had through the night has washed all the snow away which was settling too much for my liking yesterday.

Your friend sounds very nice @D0rdogne_Damsel. It’s good that you have someone you can chat to and socialise with. I agree with what Dove says; enjoy, savour and don’t rush - but I’m sure that’s what you are doing 😊.

Wise to have your neck checked @Dovefromabove, sometimes injuries can take a while to fully manifest. I hope you’ll be able to find another car soon that you’ll love just as much šŸ¤ž.
