Morning all. That cloud looks like a dog on it's back with it's feet in the air @Pat E A cool showery day here, the mountains have some snow on them again, not enough I don't think for the ski runs.
Drizzly here, we are supposed to go for a walk, sarnies in satchel, a bit optimistic methinks. If it weren't for seeing friends I am not sure I would go. This continuous greyness takes its toll on you. It could be worse.
Today is the anniversary of the explosion in which my son was so badly injured and our lives were changed … I don’t know if he’s aware of the anniversary … he was in a coma on life support for 5 weeks and I’m not sure if the date has impacted on him … he’s already set off this morning to drive 30 miles to work as they have a band in the rehearsal suite today. He has an appointment with the neurologist at Broomfield Burns unit tomorrow. This morning he simply called out ‘Bye Mum … back 9 ish. Sandwiches will be fine for supper.’ He just gets on with life … he’s remarkable and I’m so proud of him.
I would also like to thank all my GW friends for your generosity, kindness and support to us over the past twelve months, with special thanks to dear @punkdoc who held my hand ‘virtually’ on all those many difficult visits when OH and I sat by my son’s bed in ITU, surrounded by so much ‘stuff’ that we didn’t understand.
Heaven knows how we’d have got through the past year without you lot. You’re all very special people ❤️

Thanks Dove, I rather think your son has a mum to be very proud of, I'm so pleased and relieved he survived. As you say you have all had such a very tough year and for him it's not over yet. Did the police ever discover how the explosion happened?
I've also been very thankful for the support I've had from this forum over the last six months or so in particular, both in relation to the health problems of both my brothers and my own very unexpected health conditions so thank you again all.
Hurrah, the sun has just come out despite the forecast for rain. I'm planning a quick trip to the GC for some Cotswold gravel and waterbutt fixings if I can find any - might have to make a diversion to B&Q perhaps.
