Back from appt with practice nurse for bloods for my annual thyroxine review … severalĀ folk in the spacious waiting area with ā€˜acking coffs’ … I explained to nurse that I was wearing a mask as I didn’t want to spread this cold to the Practice staff … she was very appreciative… she said there’s a lot of it about.  😷

Poor @coccinella. I remember my daughter having an unpleasant time leading up to her radioactive iodine treatment. Hopefully the week will fly by, and before you know it, the scan will be done and dusted, and you can look forward to a celebratory meal of something you fancy.
Ive downloaded a jigsaw, @Pat E, thanks for the suggestion. I will still buy myself a real one, very reasonable prices in The Works, which will keep me off the iPad screen for a while.
Thanks for the suggestion, @punkdoc, I’ve just finished Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout, couldn’t put it down. I’ll be borrowing some more of hers, but now into a book by one of your other suggested authors, plus another one waiting in my downloads. That should keep me busy for a week or so!
Beautifully sunny out, but very windy and flipping cold. We had an enjoyable walk along the seafront, but I couldn’t find my hat, and thought I might get blown over a couple of times. I think by the time I’ve gathered up the recycling, and taken it down to the roadside, I’ll have had as much outdoors as I can cope with today.

Afternoon all, we awoke to sunshine and it was dry! But flipping cold when I left at 10.30 am to catch a bus into town to have my hair cut. First time since November I think and by heck I really needed it - it's really thick and got quite frizzy in all the damp weather so I looked like a scarecrow. Treated myself to coffee and cake in M&S then bought the shop up, nice to have a bit of a spree. Haven't bought new clothes for a long time. Bought a jumper in the new cobalt blue colour, very striking. Wanted to get a blue/white striped shirt but only two left, in sizes 8 and 20 which was useless.Ā

Sorry you feel down @coccinella, hopefully this week will go quickly and it will all be over next.

My daughter's just complained that the wind in Devon has been howling round the house for the last 24 hours which she hates. Hopefully she'll be up to stay here later this week.

Crikey @D0rdogne_Damsel, hope that doesn't last all day, looks quite gloomy!

Stay safe everyone, whatever the weather throws at you.

    Evening everyone.

Dry with some sun and very windy subsiding to a bit breezy and very chilly - for today’s instalment of ā€œwhat disappointing weather will we have todayā€.Ā

I’ve put my fleecy bed ā€˜linen’ back on the bed for tonight.Ā

I hope everyone is doing ok - with colds, pains, naff sleep, hospital stuff and feeling blue all kicking about.Ā

Monday dinner = left over roast chicken dinner šŸ˜‹Ā

The block pavers have been delivered and G, the handyman, came round with photos of paths. He's going to do a herringbone pattern.

I've made salmon patƩ, chicken casserole and lemon tart for tomorrow's lunch when friends are coming and beef casserole for tonight, just need to add dumplings.

    Hi all

I am a little nauseous this morning, it must be the Thyrogen. Today I have my second one. And guess what, we booked a small holiday for us in Lisbon in 2 weeks' time 🤩. It will be great to get out of this rut.
What a disappointment for your daughter @floralies, hope she is ok.
It is lovely to see signs of life @Hostafan1. Every little seedling or bud is a leap into hope. The great tits in my garden are singing their heart out, in the rain.Ā
Gardening in small doses seems to be the answer for me too @didyw, hope all your work re funding pays off, oops sorry, terrible pun.Ā
Thank you @Pat E for the puzzles link.
Hope too that the weather in the mountains improves @D0rdogne_Damsel

Time to eat something to settle my stomach and watch the sunrise somewhere.
    Stay safe.

    Good morning all 😷 ā˜•ļøĀ
I hope all are rested … thankfully I had a better night, albeit one accompanied by some weird dreams šŸ˜‚Ā
Sorry you’ve been feeling nauseous @coccinella  … hopefully that has passed šŸ¤žĀ
Thank you for your sign of spring @Hostafan1  …?very cheering for those of us a bit further north. However even here spring is arriving … the ā€˜Ice Follies’ daffs that are massed on the lawn around a neighbour’s big False Acacia on the corner are beginning to bloom already and I saw a bank of cheery celandine smiling at us yesterday morning 😊
