A couple of days late. Its been very stormy and ive been at work until today. I was suprised how much was in flower, but its been very very mild in the south.
Quince, Rosemary, Cowslip, Vinca, Cerinthe, and a double white Hellebore.
Snowdrops, Pineapple Weed, Ivy-leaved Toadflax, a teeny white flowered plant, not sure of the name, but its been fab in the rockery and Cats Ear i think. All providing a bit of nectar for any critters around .
Good to see hyacinths coming up. I admit it does feel like a bit of a faff to put in loads of bulbs in the autumn ("loads" at my small scale, at least) but by god it's such a joy to see them emerging at this time of year. It never fails to amaze me. Like bright, sunny days early in the year, they can seem like a miracle, even though they happen every year without fail. I never seem to lose the sense of surprise. Which is odd.
Great to see so many gardener's early blooms. I was able to spend my first day in the garden since new years without there being constant rain and made the following count of what was in bloom:
I have linked a view video clips in the list to show some evidence but after so much rain recently and frost last night I think a lot of them are looking less than their best.
