  • @Marlorena, I think you said that it was probably best to leave my new roses where they are for the moment and move them into bigger pots later? Is that right?

    Beautiful pictures.

It's what I do, but you don't have to follow that. If it's more convenient for you to pot them up permanently now, then go ahead. I just think a lot of the nutrients can wash out over winter.
..  I like to leave it until the end of Feb as they start growing away in March, so they are ready for the season ahead. I bare root them from the temp. pots into bigger ones, all fresh for Spring.

    Lovely rose pics !..

  • Thank you @Marlorena. I think I'll see if we have a nice day in the next few weeks - supposed to be sleeting I think tomorrow.
The reason for the question is that I may be going in for op again and will have to be careful about lifting afterwards. But I can probably get someone to help if I have to.
Weather's been lovely here today and I have planted the two fruit trees in their pots.

  • I've just had an email from David Austin asking if i would like them to send me a copy of their 2024 handbook. As they sent me 4 copies of the 2023 one within a month I'm surprised that they bothered asking. One was my fault because I requested it twice, one was sent with The Country Parson and then another a week later.
    Anyway, I've ordered one.
