An image of azaleas and acers that I accidentally created in Topaz using the acrylic filter in the Darken blending mode. I have never been able to recreate the effect with other photos.
The advantage of RAW over JPEG is that JPEG files are 8-bit, ie 256 different values per pixel, but RAW might have 14 bits, ie 16K different values, 64 times as many. Half of the values in JPEG are used for the top stop of exposure, half of the remainder for the next stop, and so on, which means there is very little detail in the shadows. With RAW files there is much more detail in the shadows so you can get a good image from a very contrasty scene.
This image illustrates what you can do. The windows were far brighter than the interior, but in post processing it was possible to equalise them quite easily. This would be impossible with JPEG files.

Lovely photos @NormandyLiz.
The look like apple blossoms to me.
