:D:D   You've only got yourself to blame @Hostafan1  Remember I did once suggest you got a £ for each Cat "post" rather than each Cat "thread" ?   You'd be banking at Coutts by now  ;)

My faults are legion, but greed isn't one of them.

All the people with dogs in our road still have problems with cats.

Our next door neighbours have two cats and when we looked after them whilst our neighbours were away, we discovered they didn't have a litter box which was because "they go in the garden". The only problem with that is its not their garden they go in and the owners don't seem remotely bothered by that concept (they are lovely people though).

I don't know if these work as I haven't caught proof, but lemon verbena has a ridiculously strong lemon smell.

Thorns or plastic netting on the beds will stop them, but it might take a month or two with them on there to do so.
Yorkshire, ex Italy and North East coast. Growing too old for it!

It doesn't stop them here. They just crap on top of it.
Thorns certainly don't work - Mahonia, Pyracantha, Blackthorn - they just perch at the side of beds and do it. I've tried all of those things many times, and I've seen them in action even when those things are in place.
It's the fact that other people have to spend time and money finding deterrents that's the most infuriating thing of all.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
