    I suggest stop digging.

Come off it @Hostafan1 do I really need to explain that.

Here you go then, because your friends on this forum will never take you to task over some of the things you say.

But, if I had suggested the poisoning of cats they would have jumped all over me in a heartbeat.

I can hear the closing of ranks.

You're not management yet, Sheps - You've only got amateur post numbers so you must spend at least some of your time actually enjoying your garden!  ;)  :D

Well all I know is that when I have my friends little Westie dog to stay here the4 cats nextdoor( why do they need4 ? ) keep well away ,AND ,I don’t allow him to yap ! The cats either can smell or sense him and stay away .Once the dog goes home again the stinking pooping things are back . I am not a cat person at all ,although I’d never hurt any living creature, but the dog is still my suggestion.

If you already have a dog, can look after it and take the responsibility of ownership and all that implies and it also keeps cats out of the garden, that's fine.
However, this suggestion that Get a Dog to solve your cat problem has cropped up on here before and it really isn't the answer.
There's already a problem with people getting "pets" which are completely unsuitable for either their lifestyle or their capabilities and they end up being dumped on the streets, in rivers/lakes/ the countryside in general or for various Animal Charities to deal with.
Having had the "cat issue" myself, I do agree that it can be extremely frustrating if the owner refuses to see sense but it needs a whole mind change on the subject of Pets/Pest before things are likely to change.  Just don't hold your breath  ;)

It's really annoying when people suggest that @philippasmith2. If we didn't mind picking up sh*t, the cats wouldn't be such a major problem. Replacing one animal's 'offerings' with another's is just daft.
    ...and that's the polite term....

I've had to clean dog shite off shoes twice this week already. :|  Fewer pets all round wouldn't hurt this country at all.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

and if you'd seen the culprit, and had said anything to the owner, they'd have said it was your fault for not looking where you put your feet....

As a responsible pet (both cats and dogs) owner I am outraged at the stupidity of some pet owners.
I would never let my pets bother anyone. I live in the middle of nowhere but I don't let them wander ever!
It's not the pets, it's the people! 😠
