Evening all, I shan't forget this birthday in a hurry! Another 5 hour stint at the hospital. Attended the clinic at 9am for the 2nd CT scan, pain was so severe I collapsed when I got there so they immediately gave me oral morphine, delayed the scan and tried to put a cannula into arm for iv liquid paracetamol. Three very painful attempts later a doctor finally managed it. Once I'd stabilised (with the help of a coffee, some chocolate cake and birthday wishes all round) they sent me for the CT scan which wasn't too bad this time, thanks to the morphine. The not so good news is that I've got multiple small blood clots in the lungs, plus muscular damage to the big trapeeze muscle in my back. The good news is that if it wasn't for the fall, they might not have been diagnosed and I would have been at high risk of heart attack/stroke without knowing it.
So I've ended up with two completely unrelated ailments diagnosed within a fortnight - very strange., I thought I was relatively healthy! Came home with another large bag of yet more pills, including morphine. Shake me and I'd rattle.
Had a late lunch and have slept all afternoon in the chair. Been told to take it very easy so tonight's birthday dinner cancelled as well as family weekend which is a shame.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. To end on a lovely positive note, just look at the beautiful bouquet of flowers that my dearly beloved OH sent me, they were on the doorstep when we got home.
Oh my goodness, not the best way to celebrate your Birthday, I really hope things improve for you very soon. What a fantastic bouquet - semi belated birthday greetings from me. It is a shame but I think you were sensible cancelling tonight's dinner and this coming weekend's activities. Wishing you all the very best.
Not much of a birthday @Lizzie27 … but this next year will he so much better that it would’ve/could’ve been had the problems not been spotted … so in a way it’s a day to really be celebrated. 🥂
Night night all … and sweet dreams … 🛌 😴

Oh dear, I haven't posted today and I've almost missed @Lizzie27's birthday. It seems to have been rather traumatic, poor Lizzie, but what a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I hope you respond to treatment quickly and can have your birthday celebration another day.
OH has been to dentist son this afternoon to have his crowns fitted onto his implants. He's pleased with the result. He enjoyed his lemon sole tonight with runner beans and courgettes from the garden.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We have a storm that has been raging for three hours, I dread to think what the garden w!ill look like tomorrow. What a birthday you have had @Lizzie27 if it wasn't for that spider you wouldn't have got your diagnosis! Beautiful flowers from your OH.
What a birthday, @Lizzie27. Maybe you can treat it like a fresh new year to get all your newly diagnosed ailments treated and under control. A belated celebration when you are back on your feet? Enjoy your flowers, and bask in the good wishes from all.
Morning all. Hubby is in town seeing his Oncologist for his regular visit. I decided to stay in my warm bed.
We have been catching mice in a trap outside the back door. Number six last night. It fascinates Pixel to see them through the glass. She’d love to be out there chasing them, but who knows where she’d end up. 😳
The weather bureau has promised rain, and there really is clouds out there for a change but I don’t believe them. I can’t remember when we last had some. 😩
Hope everyone’s had a restful night. The neighbour’s car alarm went off at around midnight and woke us, but was quiet after that … we’ll have to let B know ‘cos obviously his trip out didn’t do the trick … probably a charging problem that needs fixing.
My weather app says you’re getting rain next Friday and Saturday @Pat E …
Its dry here too at the moment … we may take a run out to the coast … perhaps fish and chips for lunch 😋

Woe is you! @Lizzie27 Golly and crikey!! But I have heard many a story of medics looking for one thing and finding something more severe which of course would never have bene detected if it weren't for the initial search. Nature, eh? I can imagine the pain if you collapsed and are on morphine!! Take it easy, girl. We all think we are in reasonable health, but as we get older, are unaware what's going on, on the inside!! Magnificent bouquet of flowers, I see a lilac coloured rose that was a favourite of my mum's - Irish Mist - I wonder if it still exists?
I hope you get to celebrate your birthday another day and have a non-birthday dinner with your family!
I see you are having a particularly cold winter @Pat E We might follow later this year. I hope your hubby's appointment went well. I filled the oil tanks for the boiler recently and the price had gone down considerably. You might want to check it out @Hostafan1
Almighty storm last night - the whole hullabaloo - wind, lightning, thunder and rain. It must have moved down from you @floralies I was woken at half past twelve with a severe banging. It was the sail I had put on the pergola - it had broken free and the clip was banging against the plastic shutter. As an ex-yachtie, I had the situation under control in an instant!!!! The storm was right overhead and the poor dog under the bed! On the upside - rain!!!! Ah!!!!
No tuto for today's expression but not so good for the rain we've just had: Quand il pleut le jour de Saint Victor, la récolte n'est pas d'or.

I am not sure whether they discussed this with you, but there is a strong association between Polymyalgia and pulmonary embolism.
