@pitter-patter They are very easy to grow. They are hardy down to -30C, and are happy in acid or alkaline soil of any kind. In America the wild daylilies are known as ditchweed, but they are also very drought tolerant. The only thing they don't like is full shade. They are the most popular perennial in the USA.
One of the best scented varieties is Lilioasphodelus.. isn't that right Alan? I think it's lovely.. I planted some this year but they will flower next year.. thin, grassy, rather graceful foliage..
