You have a great selection Alan.. how many do you have?..

I thought your 'High Tor' was Lilioasphodelus for a moment..

  • I have about 80 varieties. I will probably reduce the number as there are several that I am not very keen on.

We planted the dahlias out late because it's been so hot and dry.....and we've both had varying spells of ill health,so they aren't out yet.

I’ve never grown hemerocallis before, but I’ve bought one today in the garden centre. No doubt as a result of this thread. Are they easy to grow?

Yes I think so, the only drawback I have found is that they don't seem to flower much in the first summer after planting..
They like to be fed, including liquid feed and a good watering just before flowering is recommended.. but if you have lots of them, I don't suppose people bother that much..

I have found my preference is for the 'spider' form of Daylily, whereby the petals are flared outwards, and pointed, more like a Lily..
.. this one.. 'Laurena' again today, showing the flaring and curling of the tips.. like a spider..

..some of them have the weirdest names..
