I hope so @Simone_in_Wiltshire. We do have rain in the forecast from Sunday, but I'm not holding my breath.. it was the same last week but it never materialised.
The hosepipe ban is actually effective from today but "enforcement from June 26th" (according  to the email from South East Water) whatever that means.  Going to be a nightmare lugging around watering cans.

I hate to use a hosepipe to water plants. I do have water butts which are empty. I have been using a can as I feel I have more control over the amount of water I use and where it goes. Standing filling a can from a tap focuses the mind, clean drinking water is precious and this process reminds us of that.

Nice steady rain since about 8ish,  it will need to rain heavy for several weeks to fill the reservoirs down here,   The tourists will come down in their millions all using water to bath or two showers a day.
We have had a leak just along by us,  been like it for 6 months,  in the end I put it on the open Facebook page,  then sent them a private message,  then followed it up,  I’m not one to mince words,  so I had a phone call today she said ‘I can tell you’re concerned.😀 Does it affect your supply?  We will get to it very soon’.
    We’ll see.

  • @borgadr Last week, we had the High above Scotland the wind came from the NE direction. Now, this is changing and we get SW wind. That means that the Lows can come to us.
In ITV Meridian, South Water said it's not that there is a drought, but there is too much demand that they can't deliver currently.

    I my garden.

Me too. Car was washed yesterday, washing is out and there's more to do tomorrow, and I've watered the plants that were wilting. What more can I do to tempt the rain gods to send some this way?

Couple of short,  light showers today, not enough to wet the ground. Hopefully something more substantial tonight or tomorrow

We had a few spits and spots while I was outside cutting the grass. Not even enough to dampen the surface, I don't think I'd even have noticed it if I wasn't outside and wearing a sleeveless top so I felt a few spots hitting my shoulders.

We had about 4 droplets in East Yorkshire. I got all excited expecting a downpour and brought my chair cushions in, but like JennyJ it wasn't even enough to wet the surface.

It stopped soon after,  never even wet the ground although there was enough in the butts to water tonight.
