Hi all, just checking in. We are in Russe, Bulgaria, we were in Danube delta, on Monday. One of the (thankfully small) group of Americans on board was concerned to hear we were less than 1km from the Ukraine boarder at one point. 😆 Anyway couple of pics to keep you updated. The last one is the back of a bench that is modelled to look like a folded newspaper.
Afternoon all, Been to get hair sorted this afternoon and took Hubby to podiatrist this morning. Nothing planned for this evening. Tomorrow its art class in the morning and the boys in the afternoon. No time for gardening at the moment. Hand is a bit better today but typing is still very awkward. Hope everyone is ok.
I found the funeral more upsetting than I expected. B was 87 so a had reached a decent age but he had been such a live wire in the choir and at church only 10 years ago. It made me think of our future, OH is 81 now and we live in two different countries. There weren't many at the funeral, I was surprised as there are still people from the choir who knew him who I had expected to see. But a lot have died or gone back to the UK.
I have nearly finished the undercoat on the landing. The rest will have to wait until we get back. I've put up an electric fence to stop the deer getting to the roses.
It's been very hot again today.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We had a loud thunderstorm in the night. I am still in bed, OH gone to make tea, I opened the window, the scent of summer rain is gorgeous. Today I have a medical and the rest of the day I hope will be calm.
Carry on having a good time @Allotment Boy Sorry about your friend @Busy-Lizzie. It is hard to see friends go and inevitably we think of ourselves and what's is going to be. Our closest, and I mean children and parents, are spread in 4 countries, all in Europe mercifully. It's not all that is cracked up to be.
Morning folks. Just to prove I really do get up early! Still only 5.45 now. With black out blind and eye mask I wake up earlier and earlier,as the year goes on. Busy-Lizzie ❤️. My granddaughter put a fitness tracker on the phone here, set it to 6000, phone kept telling me off,so hubby put it at 5000. I only take it shopping (for the app) and walking the dog. Remembered it yesterday, just walking up and down the garden (not even every time) sowing seeds etc,I clocked up 2.5k. I was surprised. That's without housework etc. Shopping day today. Temperature still going down outside overnight 10c, outside of conservatory roof covered in condensation. It was 23c yesterday. Don't know if anyone else finds this. As I have got older,20c is plenty hot enough, after about 20 minutes max,I'm in the shade,a couple of years ago, I could happily sit in 26c. Or is this something to do with the growth on my adrenal gland! Have a good day whatever your plans.
It's probably that silly weather girl @Pat E Proper diction problem!! @Busy-Lizzie I get that same sort of feeling - I sometimes wonder what the future has to hold.
Off and out today to Lidl before the bun fight. They have filter cartridges on special for my water jug. Dog bike/walk/run first.
Good morning all ☕ A bit late on parade this morning ... no real reason ... just doing things in a slightly different order ... and now there are pneumatic drills etc outside digging up the pavement to replace damaged services access covers (think that's what they're called) and of course they're doing it on a bin day so there's a degree of chaos and shouting of instructions, reversing bleepers etc, .... I'm heading into the kitchen to start a beef shin casserole off in the slow cooker ... with any luck that'll trigger some warmer weather ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
