Fantastic harvests above 👍👌 Too many runner beans - more than a kilo picked today. Have shared them with neighbours. I had put out a few apples on the driveway; that also have gone to good homes.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Today's haul. I don't usually grow potatoes but I found a couple of eaters sprouting at the back of the cupboard and planted them in an old compost bag.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
First proper tomato pickings! Rosella, Gardeners' Delight, Yellow Pear and Blue Bayou. I had a few odd ones last week which got eaten before they made it into the house, and there were half a dozen or so split ones today which I ate for lunch. I start them late deliberately because we have no greenhouse, and normally get to pick from August to October.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
