@TheGreenMan That is good news after so many evergreen agapanthus did not survive the winter. There is hope for the new Everpanthus.
    A Navy Blue is deciduous.
    Microclimate maybe?
I was massively mistaken about the one I have.

It’s deciduous apparently. It’s always had loads of green over winter since I got it.

    It’s Amourette Blue.

I got it here (local GC; others are available; this is not an ad)

Perhaps Mother Nature sent the right weather at the right time?”

But only to our front garden where our Agapanthus Navy Blue also has 32 buds.  The one in the back garden has about 3.

@TheGreenMan Evergreen or deciduous it has done well to survive so far north.

@BenCotto That just adds to the puzzle. Unless there is some fundamental difference in how they are growing.

Where are you all putting them over winter?

Are they in pots and do you move them somewhere sheltered?

My Agapanthus are in the ground along the edge of a path.South/West facing corner.
I cover them in a thick layer of mulch over winter.
I have wondered if they go through cycles as far as flowering goes. Lift and split, year one a few flowers. Year two perhaps double that of year one. Years three and four lots of flowers. Year five congested and need splitting. This is in the ground not the same in pots which can vary.

My agapanthus have been in the same pots,  in the same soil for about 5 or 6 years,  I’ve never fed them,  hardly ever water them even in this drought,  they are covered in buds at the moment, can’t wait for them to bloom.
They’ve certainly outlasted the plastic pots,  they are crumbling away now.

I took a chance and left them all out this winter,  they did well considering the two very cold spells in November and February.

    Hi all Agapantus lovers!
Although Agapanthus specimens are quite frequent in Brittany where I live I had never found a place for them in my garden until I recently purchased a smallish specimen of Agapanthus x Kilmurry White. Advice varies re their hardiness. Anyone has it and can provide more info? I do like the fairly short size of the flower stems and also its pure white colour. Currently in its pot.

Mine is surely ready to flower now….

I think it’s almost too big for its pot now.

Should I let it suffer for another year or repot it? 🤔
