..that red peony is rather a classic isn't it.. I see it in all sorts of gardens, and I used to have it too elsewhere..
@SYinUSA I've bookmarked that Iris resource, thank you.. however I will say that I think it must be U.S. orientated because the 2 Irises I have here are not listed.. and there are a number that I know of that are also missing, that are sold here.. so, just as a caution to anyone researching.. Otherwise, very useful and plenty of nice pics.
You have two lovely ones Andrew.. I do like the lavender..
Using the link provided and a bit of Google I think the lavender iris may be blue shimmer
Can any one help I have a peonies and each time they bloom they don't last long yet I see others that are trailing on the floor and still bloom yet mine only last about 2weeks can anyone have any tips
Peony flowers don't last long and they only have the one flush of blooms (the herbaceous ones that I'm familiar with, anyway). That's just how they are. The trick is to plant them in a border/bed with other things that will be interesting at other times. Different varieties bloom at slightly different times (for me P. rubra plena is always the earliest) so you can get a succession of sorts if you have room for multiple varieties.
