Sounds as though things are looking up @Dovefromabove. Though your gardening girl hasn't much stamina! Good thing she doesn't have to garden in France! 20C yesterday. Usually warmer in May. I hope you have a lovely time next week.
We had a good day yesterday and it was warm and sunny. We didn't go to the market after all. Daughter 1 wanted to go to the plant nursery instead and her sons and OH just wanted to relax. She was quite impressed with the nursery, size of plants and cheap prices. She bought a trolley load of shrubs and perennials.
Then we all went out to a lovely restaurant in Aubeterre. We had lunch on the pretty terrace. The village is built on the side of a hill, lovely views. There were a lot of tourists. Thursday, Ascension Day, was a bank holiday in France so a lot of people take Friday off too. We looked around the village after lunch.
They left late afternoon.
@didyw my late OH was bi-polar too, think we talked about it when we met. He refused medication. He managed to hold it together at work, dentist, and people said he was charming. Daughter 2 inherited it but has only recently accepted that that is how she is and is now taking medication, huge improvement and is happily back with her OH.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Lovely day here. Charlie and I are going to climb a local waterfall today, about an hour's drive away in a pretty village. His dad is coming too, invited himself and tricky to refuse, but he is going to stay in a cafe in the village whilst Charlie and I do the walk. We shall take our time.
Also managed a bit of weeding and dead heading of the iris yesterday, I'm lucky we have early flowering ones and late flowering ones, all different colours too, so I I keep dead heading he whole clump stays looking nice for weeks. I shall be splitting them to take to the new garden after flowering too.
Hope everyone has a good week-end, especially @Dovefromabove, hope they spoil you rotten at the hotel.

Good morning everyone, lovely start here too. The GH recorded 7.5 last night but it's showing 25 now, even though the auto vents have opened. Lovely picture @Pat E Have a good day all.
After a lovely week in Seville (what a beautiful and interesting city 🍊🍊🍊) we have come back to more sunshine - hooray.
Will finally finish off the mulching today, then must start getting some of my many, many plant babies in the ground. Chicklet has dome a sterling job of keeping everything thriving in our absence 🌱
Been away for a couple of weeks in the Gers area. Auch to be exact. Home of d'Artagnan, good foie gras and duck breast. Here is a photo of both:
And yes, he really existed. Dumas based his stories on real events and people of that era. The weather was "springlike" - lots of rain with sunny intervals. The landscape is magnificent. So green and rolling - unlike the dry Mediterranean plains.
Back home to work but with "Les Cavaliers" still hanging around, it was too windy to plant my vegetable garden until Wednesday. Everyone is in their bed now, aubergines, peppers and tomatoes. Rain is expected - "expected" , this afternoon, but the sky is blue. A constant state of hope and uncertainty when it comes to rain here.
Regards to everyone with aches and pains: @punkdoc - I will send some smoked thinly sliced duck breast to cheer you up!! And a little red!! @Busy-Lizzie Sounds like you are enjoying being back in the fold - good food, good company and pretty views. @Dovefromabove I have a lovely lady who does my windows for me and lends a hand in the garden for the tough work like digging. She loves the gardening bit and is happy to take home an armful of vegetables for soup. You have to admit it's heavy work - unlike pushing a vacuum-cleaner around. Not to everyone's ability. Enjoy your stay at the hotel. @D0rdogne_Damsel Enjoy your time with Charlie - don't worry about the gooseberry waiting at the café! @didyw I have irises like yours - but mine don't have a scent! They are spent now and on their way out. We're having a cold spring like last year - mucks the growing season up rather.
Here is my vegetable garden freshly planted: Fingers crossed...... I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Easy on the rosé!!
Thank you @tui34 for breezing in with some lovely pics and getting @punkdoc salivating!
Your veg garden looks amazing!
I'm just in from potting on some plug plants, weeding (a lot!) and feeding and mulching the roses in the front garden. Time for a nice cuppa and a shower
Evening all, that does good @tui34, wish our veg garden looked as tidy as yours but I really can't get enthusiastic about veggies and have enough to do looking after all the flower beds.
Had my 6th Covid jab this morning, feel ok at the moment, hopefully that will continue. Popped into the GC on our way home just to pick up some ant powder and patio cleaner and were amazed at how busy it was. Felt that everybody had just been waiting for some sunshine! Seems there's no recession here, trolleys were heaving with plants.
Hope you kept the gooseberry waiting a suitably very long time @D0rdogne_Damsel and that you enjoyed the climb with Charlie.
@Busy-Lizzie, my OH had a friend with bipolar, found him very difficult to deal with sometimes. Not easy to live with someone suffering from it.

Lovely sunny day, hopefully I will be sitting out, but sadly not gardening.
