Good morning all. Sounds like you have all been busy in the gardens and otherwise. @star gaze lilythinking of you. Hoping things improve for your OH @Rubee.
we are still in Stafford we leave tomorrow and we are going to Liverpool! We are helping big son move to his new home but I am very excited to see all the Eurovision paraphernalia and soak up the atmosphere. Seeing the coverage and the way Liverpool is honouring Ukraine makes me really proud to be British.

Morning all. Well, what a change in the weather. We are back to cold winds and ..yes, you've guessed it, rain! Can't believe how quick  it's changing from day to day. Last night was quite eerie for us, it was so quiet. Our few windows we had replaced must have been worse than we thought. We can't hear a sound now.
Have to pop into town and then going to have a rest this afternoon.
Debs, I bet you have a great time in Liverpool. What a time to be going....hope the move for your son goes well.
LB,m hope your plant gets delivered well.

Morning all. The weather's turned here too Hazel so it's a good day for going to the SM and getting a few indoor jobs sorted. You'll never ever hear me complain about rain - my garden needs all it can get.

Rosie - good luck with the pole - such a nuisance.

LB - nice plant on it's way. Hope it arrives safe and sound.

I've not watched the Euro Song Contest since (probably!) Buck's Fizz were in it. Really not into euro-pop and it all got very political a few years ago. Can still remember hearing(!) Terry Wogan's eyes rolling one year as, yet more, politically biased votes were announced. If you were in 'The Club' you got high points, if you were out you got null points - irrespective of how good or bad the entry was.

And I'm still not 100% sure how Australia can be classed as a European country...

This year has piqued my interest a little so I may look in at some stage.

I agree @Topbird it can get a little political and I have no hopes of a win but to have it staged here means it’s extra exciting for me. Fiancé has no interest but is indulging me a little, we will come home after lunch as it would probably be a bit manic later on for my tastes but I do look forward to seeing some of the displays in Liverpool and soaking up a little bit of positive atmosphere and the sun is supposed to shine ☀️

    Good morning
its very grey out there but dry so far 🤞.
Glad to hear you have your new hob installed @Topbird. It sounds very sophisticated 😁.
Hope you get that pesky screw out today Rosie.
Been up for what seems ages and had broken nights sleep, so feel not quite there now. I’m sure it’ll pass and hope for a better sleep tonight.
Enjoy your trip to Liverpool @debs64. Although I’m not a fan of Eurovision and won’t be watching, I imagine the atmosphere will be amazing around the city.
  • I wiped the wall down in the bedroom to remove some watery plaster splashes which were easily removed.  LB, Topbird and Hazel just doing some tidying today and I’ve found on the Gangees some water based primer and undercoat to cover the plaster only £6 and good reviews which don’t sound overly protracted and made up, so it’s not worth buying a bucket and a stick to mix water and emulsion to make a mist it probably would cost more.  I’ve donated to the pangolin appeal I feel so saddened by their plight.  Off for sixty winks.  LB hope your plant arrives in good health.

We went to the market then the SM just before the rain started. I bought a few perennial plants and a rose, The Pilgrim, at the market, good thing I took my trolley. Forgot the loo rolls  and a soap dish. OH broke the utility room soap dish.

Afternoon all. Well I managed to get a Doctor's appointment today after ringing first thing this morning. They triaged my symptoms and then rang back with an appointment for 13:30. I duly presented myself and described my back problems. He had a cursory glance and poked my spine asking if it hurt. Answer, no, and I then indicated the painful spot. He then told me it was more than likely muscular. I asked about getting my favourite 'rub' on prescription and he said he would prescribe one containing ibuprofen. I had to point out that I was allergic to that and gave him the name of the one I can safely use. I then had to walk to the pharmacy to pick this up.When I arrived there, after a short wait, I was handed the ubiquitous paper bag. Luckily I looked into it and discovered a tube of ointment with ibuprofen in it. I explained the problem to the chemist who took back the gel. I then had to walk back to the surgery to point out the discrepancy and another Doctor sent off the correct prescription this time. The Doc I saw wasn't answering his phone. I did not feel reassured. I did ask how long I should expect the back problem to continue before it was better and he said about 2 weeks. I am not holding my breath but will follow advice. I have to rest. When I got home my kirengeshoma had arrived and - bless the delivery man - was safely stashed away in my garage as I had requested. I couldn't give up the Doc appointment.
Rosie you sound like you are all organised now.

  • LB what a pita.  The doctor should have listened to you.  I do hope your back pain does ease between the two weeks or sooner.  Take care.
