Oh my goodness @Ladybird4 what an awful day you've had. So pleased you weren't injured, do hope you're feeling ok. Such an awful shock. Hope you're able to sleep well tonight and no bruising or aches and pains. Take care of yourself and have a lazy day tomorrow too. Hope your car isn't too badly damaged and can be repaired. Sending very best wishes and a gentle hug. OH hasn't had a good day today, but seems to be slightly better this evening than he was during the day. Fast asleep now, hoping he gets a good night's sleep.Β The weather has been awful, poured all day and so very windy. Hope you and OH had a good journey today @Songbird-2 and hope your mum is well. Bet she's delighted to see you. Will say night night to you all, sleep well everyone.
Good morning all. Sorry to hear about your horrible day @Ladybird4 thank goodness nobody was injured although you must have been very shaken up. Hoping your car is ok and back with you quickly. Take extra good care of yourself for the next few days.Β
Sorry to hear about your OH @star gaze lily hope he has a better day today.Β
Off to work in a bit I have volunteered to take in hot cross buns today.Β
@Ladybird4 that looks almost furry but probably not a good idea to stroke it! We always do hot cross buns at Easter π£ but we are thinking maybe this week would be better as next week looks as if it will be very busy. Itβs always hectic as we are closed Good Friday and Easter Monday and people panic. Any Bank Holiday has to be paid for with extra work but Easter is always the worst one. It seems to catch people unawares.Β
You are right Debs. I wonder what the mentality of some people is when they buy in as if there is going to be a siege over our major holiday times. Its amusing to see people with trolley loads of bread, for example, and crates of drink.
People panicking over prescriptions is another thing altogether and I can imagine you are bombarded with requests.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
They could be buying for an event, LB. When I used to organise church charity events like concerts in the village hall or BBQs or afternoon tea for 60 people my trolley was loaded. I once did Easter Sunday lunch, roast lamb, for 36, maybe people thought I had a big freezer!
OH is taking me out to lunch at our favourite pub restauant today. He says that now he has a new hip and he's stopped the blood thinners and the strong painkillers he needs to celebrate.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning Busy. You are right, they could be preparing for a party but somehow I think not in many cases. It just amuses me watching them wrestling with their trolleys - bit like watching a supermarket dash on TV - as the tower of bread wobbles and threatens to fall over.
Super news about your OH, my friend has been out and about walking now since her hip op and feels so comfortable. Have a lovely meal and please tell us all about what you have to eat later.

Morning all. Reveryone seems in fine fertile today. Oh my, LB, you had a lucky escape there, never mind the car ( only a " material " thing) i was just glad to read that you were ok and not badly hurt. Cars can get mended, it may be an inconvenience now for a day or two but bodies are a different thing, take it easy for a day or two your body may well go into shock with it.Β We are dead beat after a whirlwind visit to mum, doing some cleaning and clearing for her, tending to her plants and not sleeping well ( for various reasons I won't go into here) and then a rain filled journey back home yesterday. OH is off to optician this morning but as the appointment can take up to an hour, I may stay at home. Nice to go away but always nice to get home. Ill catch up fully in a bit folks, take care.

Cold and wet all day. I've been doing unmentionables. Kitchen smells nice and the floor is clean.
