@WAMS I had to look up what that was... I have family there too. Hilariously the packet pictures wrong though, taylors show its purple not red! Looks lovely though.
Urgh, ive spotted a few rose blackspot outbreaks which is annoying. Ive not got the sulphur rose out yet, I better do some blasting! Its not horrendously bad anywhere yet, but Albertine is prone so its impossible to completely get rid of it in the garden.
Thank you. I was hoping that you were still around and posting ! I have just planted Mme Alfred Carriere on another wall. I love it! I hope to post a little more now that I have a few roses established in the new garden. I love the idea of rambling rector but it's too big for that space and doesn't repeat
@ciaranmcgrenera, looks like it might be rose sawfly caterpillar damage. A couple of my roses last year looked the same.
That does look like sawfly larvae damage. Although we tend to get it later in year. I guess if the poster is in a warmer/wetter location they may hatch sooner.

I’m in Dublin. Now that I think of it I feel like I got this on the same rose later on last year too.
@Jason-3 - I second that for Mme Alfred C. Very fast. Every year have to hang out the window to prune it off the roof! Lovely scented flowers which repeats. This is mine from last summer:
@Marlorena - how does the Beale’s garden compare to DA? I’ve been to neither but would like to try one soon.
My first bud finally on Princess Anne:
@ciaranmcgrenera - I’m having similar issues with some of mine and also on a few dahlias I have started hardening off:
This was overnight on first night outside! Honeysuckle and clematis leaves have been hit the worst.
