You're very lucky @Marlorena to have a number of rose gardens in your area, not a thing we have in these parts. I have 'Open Arms', a top performer every year. Full of blooms from May, right through to late summer.
It'll light up your garden @Eustace .. especially at dusk, the whole plant glows like golden lanterns... the new growth is thorny, but the flowering stems weren't too bad actually, I've had worse.. and plenty of good foliage..
@peteS Yes lots of gardens around here, almost on my doorstep.. Beales has become a favourite though because they have so much to offer... and yes I did buy a rose yesterday... I tried to resist - failed ..
Wollerton OH has lots of purple blotches on its stems that I am ignoring. I had a bit of a panic as pruning them out means losing most of the rose for this year but then watched this and calmed down.
Manured 17 out of 18 roses in the back garden. The 18th is smothered in yellow tulips which I must have planted years ago right underneath so no room for manure there. Found my first buds on 'Blue for You' and Nathalie Nypels. Keep trekking up the garden to look at my GdeF, it's looking good in its first year.
Edited to add, DA are on the ball seemingly, they've just emailed me to say they haven't heard from me lately (i.e. not bought anything) and wouldn't I like to buy another rose to go with my Strawberry Hill. At their prices not tempted at the moment.
I guess the trellis works, in theory, like neighbours growing things either side of a fence @WAMS. Mme. Isaac Pereire is planted in the centre and has the whole 10ft width to itself on one side. The other side has two spaced about 3ft from the roots of MIP. Both sides have wires on long vine eyes so nothing tied direct to the trellis itself.
Canary Bird looking great @Tack. How do you find the stability of your umbrella support? It looks sturdier than the one I have on Gislaine, which is a bit top heavy. I really need to fix proper stabilisers to it. It got extremely windy here today so it’s currently tied down with fetching blue bungees!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Astonishing clematis haul, @JessicaS. I didn't know there was one called Aotearoa. Going to have to get that out of blind patriotism.
