Cut myself a little posy, VdB, Mary Delany, and a Shirley Temple Peony. Bought this vase with this in mind as it’s a lovely size, perfect for shorter stems!
We met friends for drinks last night and went out wearing cashmere jerseys and waterproofs.
It is hard doing ranking, few of us apart from maybe Marlorena has had practically every Austin going! I don’t trust any reviewer that gets freebies to promote, recommendations on here are far better. Ultimately tho, your own nose and what fragrance pleases you is the best guide.

@cooldoc forgot to respond to you re Harlow Carr. I got absolutely nothing from it for the first three years, then it finally started giving me a little. I couldn’t understand why everyone else said it had a good fragrance!

Went to Harkness today and couldn't resist another purchase. Their Lakeland and Susie they have growing at the entrance on obelisks looked so grand:

I went for a Susie climber, a Chandos standard and, very suprised to find it there, a Graham Thomas standard. My first standards. I went for GT as I have admired it for a while and they just looked so good:
I know lots of you have standards. Do they grow well in a pot?
