Lovely @Nollie . I called into Bridgewater twice in the last week - on my way to and from North Wales - it's just about half way and a much nicer place than the motorway services to stop for a tea, a wee and a leg stretch, for an RHS member (if not it would be too pricey to justify short visits on the way from A to B).
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

I did really enjoy the visit, it’s been a massive undertaking - I watched the TV series about the build so it was all the more interesting to see it. Still lots of areas under development so would love to go back in a few year’s time!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

I have been several times since it opened, and each time there have been significant changes.
I know they are planning on developing the woodland, which could be interesting.
How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

  • Plas Newydd last week.  A section of Rex Whistler's mural included!
  • Been to Wakehurst Place today.

  • Been to Sheffield Park (NT) today - in the wind and rain.
Some great views (in my opinion), but dull weather doesn't help.

  • The second picture shown, is a Redwood, struck by lightning last year. See details below.

    I've attached the photo again.

  • A visit to Borde Hill gardens, near Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
