That's great news @Dovefromabove . My mother got my brother home from rehab too, but it was very different times. 'Rehab' was getting him making a stool and weaving a top for it, for one hour a day. The rest of the time he was sat there with no stimulation of any kind. The change in his progress once he was home was remarkable. That's not to suggest it was easy. It was bloody exhausting at times to be perfectly honest. As others have said, it's important to be aware of your own health and needs at the same time.
Although you have all been in my daily thoughts and prayers, plus I have been keeping up with the news here, I have yet to post. But logging in this morning and reading the wonderful news that Rob is home caused me to jump up and shout "he's home". My daughter's reply of "Wow, just brilliant" shows just how many of our conversations have been about you all over the past few weeks, she knew exactly who I was talking about. Sending our very best wishes for Rob's continued recovery.
@Dovefromabove What great news - I echo all the sentiments already expressed.🥰
If you haven't already, I would suggest having a chat with OT at Soc Services and / or Norfolk & Norwich Hosp. As you know, there are many gadgets and tools out there which might make life a little easier and give Rob a little more independence. Many of them are available for short term loan from hospital stores.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Came up from the garden yesterday evening and said to myself, I need to check how Dove's son is doing, and what a great news. Please tell him @Dovefromabove , that the GW forum members wish him all the best.
Glad your first day went well enough. Also nursed my husband at home through his cancer so echo other care-givers' thoughts. A 30-minute walk a day is refreshing. Spring is on its way, so it's a positive step forward preparing the garden etc. Good therapy. Stay strong.

There's no place like home and home cooking too to build up his strength.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
No place like home! Best wishes for your son's recovery.
I ♥ my garden.
