Dove, your son and all the family are in my thoughts. I’m sure I’m not the only forum ‘lurker’ that thinks about you every day since the awful news. Although I rarely post, I do look at this forum daily, and have been so pleased to see little snippets of news on his long road to recovery, which I imagine will be very up and down. Very best wishes from the other side of the country

    You’re all very kind… today’s update is that he’ll
be moving into the Rehabilitation & Therapy Ward any day now … he is working so hard at getting well … I’m so proud of him. 😊
you're right to be proud of him.
Will he be allowed more visitors?

Yes … we’ve been told not to over-face him at the moment … he has told them he still wants me to be his main visitor … then a few others for short visits to start with. 😊

Understandable, but I'm sure Wonky and Papa Womble are desperate to see him too.

They are … we just have to take it gently depending on what he feels he can cope with. Some folk can be a little exhausting, even tho they mean well.  He’s the important one at the moment 😊

There are fine lines between being supportive, asking too many questions, and sitting in silence for half an hour then upping and leaving.

It's a long road, and he's started the journey .
There maybe a few backward steps to come, but he's away  :)

The staff are just incredible, l take my metaphorical hat off to them.
