York Gate is a great garden. I met the head gardener Jack Ogg and he is a really interesting bloke. Gave me a couple of freebies as well

Agree about Ramona Jones' garden. Normally l go for the orange colour range in tulips, but those pale yellow ones were very pretty.

I couldn't believe that Monty overwintered his salvias in a greenhouse heated to 5 degrees - there's luxury !
No wonder he's decided not to do that any longer.

York Gate is on my bucket list. I love the Art Deco and Arts and Crafts styles.

Our salvias overwinter outdoors, but in the ground, rather than pots.

'Fraid the MD effect got me again and I fell asleep but I did see the bits with Ramona and Adam and thoroughly enjoyed them.

I stash my 3 citrus plants in the polytunnel over the winter along with my fuchsias in pots but it's unheated so they just get protection from extreme cold, northerly winds and beasts from the east when they get this far.   Need to go and check if there are signs of life on the two Amistad salvias but the Hot Lips (gift, not chosen) and Bumble Bees are fine.

    8pm tonight.

"The team are Birmingham-bound for one of the highlights of the horticultural year - the annual Gardeners’ World Live event. Monty Don, Arit Anderson, Adam Frost, Sue Kent, Carol Klein, Joe Swift, Rachel de Thame and Frances Tophill bring us the best the gardening world has to offer.

From design inspiration in the show gardens to the latest plants and flowers in the floral marquee, they meet expert growers who share their passion for cacti and hydrangeas as well as gain tips on how to design with foliage and create a garden that offers both an abundance of food and a feast for the eyes."

  • We really didn't need that rant 🤣 just fast forward it on iPlayer, life's too short to waste energy on hating random, inconsequential things.

    Wow!

    Post deleted.

Anyone from the moderators care to explain why?

    9pm  TONIGHT.

" With summertime at its peak, Adam plans to extend the season with plants for evening scent and shares the results of his wild meadow turf experiment.

In North Yorkshire, Nick Bailey discovers the range of floral beauty of Cornus kousa, the dogwood tree. Toby Buckland visits a back garden near Milton Keynes with seven ponds.

There's a lady in Gloucestershire who loves to share her garden passion with friends. And with RHS Flower Show Tatton Park approaching, there's a visit to a grower as they prepare for the event.

Plus more of the films that have been sent in by viewers."
