@Fairygirl you are absolutely right it’s a balancing act and I know my garden gives pleasure to a few people and provides food and water for a lot of insects and birds.
last year I had a tiny paddling pool for my grandchildren and was using the water after they finished playing to water my pots, a fair bit was spilt onto my outdoor rug and I was amazed to see about a dozen bees land on the rug and start to drink. It had been a hot day and that water undoubtedly saved their lives and my granddaughter was so excited and interested to see them drinking.
Gardens are there to give us joy and make life a bit better in every way not to heap more guilt onto our shoulders when we are all just really doing our best.

I’m definitely sick up to here *I’m pointing to the ceiling* of being made to feel guilty for all kinds of things: driving a petrol car, using a hosepipe, buying the odd bag of peaty compost, plastic pots.

I do enough in my own tiny way but see/hear others doing absolutely nothing.

We’re all being made to feel like it’s up to us as individuals to change our ways entirely when the governments and big corporations are doing next to nothing in comparison.  It feels like we’re being gaslighted.

I’m no longer feeling guilty. Not when this is going on….

Ah yes, there's a lot of nonsense talked, isn't there? And a lot of patting your own back over things that don't mean much in the great scheme of things. I haven't had a car for some time but it surely doesn't mean much from an environmental perspective when all my groceries and supplies are delivered either to my local shop or to me in cars, vans and lorries.

Amazing, a list that doesn't show Russia on the dark side... lol.

    8pm tonight.

"Monty prepares for late spring and summer, sowing poppies and planting cornflowers for colour and interest in the paradise garden. He also harvests rhubarb and shares tips on moving shrubs.

Toby Buckland revels in some fabulous spring planting on a visit to the magnificent landscaped gardens of Melbourne Hall in Derbyshire. Rachel de Thame meets a passionate dahlia grower who was once a florist working at the White House for the Obamas.

Plus more of the films that have been sent in by viewers."

I see Toby Buckland is appearing on GW a fair bit lately which is good as I quite like him. But I feared his days on GW were over after the car crash the BBC made of the series he presented a few years ago with the 'whats hot and what's not' board, and the 'making something cr@p in 5 mins' segment he did with Joe Swift. Simply embarrassing.

Just catching up with last night's show. Does anyone know what tree/shrub this might be?

I’ve no idea what I’m doing.
