I agree that it would have been better to have a stand alone programme just covering the Malvern Show, but I got the impression that there may not have been enough items of interest to fill an hour. I've visited Malvern several times but it just didn't seem to have the usual "vibe" that l remember.
Perhaps someone who visited "in real life" could comment.

The usual blanket coverage of Chelsea will be here before we know it.

I did enjoy Toby's visit to Aberglasney, but l'm not too sure about some of the tulip colour combinations !

I have to agree for some reason I never enjoy the Malvern show whereas I find the Chelsea tolerable, having said that I did like the couple growing herbs.

    8pm tonight.

" It’s a good time to get tender plants in the ground now the risk of frost has passed. Monty is busy planting out tropical gingers and sweetcorn and direct sowing beans.

Joe Swift visits a stunning walled garden in Denbighshire, designed and planted by owners who love to recycle and repurpose as much as they can.

Rekha Mistry shares the secrets of her success for growing aubergines on her London allotment.

There's a re-visit to farmer turned nurseryman Barry Proctor as he makes final preparations for his first RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

And to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week, journalist Rosie Kinchen explains how horticulture helped her deal with postnatal depression.

Plus, more of the films that have been sent in by viewers."

  • I liked the large wall garden, and the piece by Logan. How knowledgeable he seemed.

Sorry, just catching up with the comments about the Malvern Show. I usually go every year (but obviously missed the ones during covid) so I really enjoyed the one this year. The weather was good which made a huge difference. It was very busy but not over-crowded with loads of plant stalls and garden sundries. There didn't seem to be as many show gardens this year, unless we missed some. It was well organized with plenty of food stalls and a rather pleasant RHS Lounge for members which was a bonus. Also plenty of loos! I much prefer the Spring show to the Autumn one. The only irritating thing was the long traffic queue to get in (we went by coach) which was longer than usual.

Thanks for that @Lizzie27 :) l hope to get there next year, fingers crossed.
As for this week's show, l did enjoy young Logan. My OH commented that he seemed an "old soul"  and l wouldn't be surprised if we saw him again.
I hope Barry Procter does well at Chelsea, l should imagine that this year has been even more difficult for the nurseries than usual.

    Good morning all,
not posted this last week as we’ve been away to Norfolk. Had a lovely week, but it’s back to all the jobs now. Everything has put on a huge growth spurt whilst we’ve been away and borders etc, need attention. OH is cutting the grass as I speak. I’ll help later once I’ve caught up with all the back from holiday jobs.
Hope you are all well. Will read back later to catch up.

    😂 @Red maple … whereabouts in Norfolk?  You should’ve waved 😉

Hi, @Dovefromabove. We were based close to Fakenham in a little village called Great Rybergh. We managed to do quite a bit in our week, visiting Pensthorpe Nature Reserve (beautiful), Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall, (both really interesting), Wells and Sherringham. We also called into Hunstanton, but sadly found it very run down and empty. The weather was mostly kind to us (we packed for all eventualities), and have returned home suitably rested after a lovely week.
I thought about you, as I know you are in Norfolk 😁.
