These Allium sphaerocephalon bulbs were an impulse buy last autumn whilst my OH was choosing here tulips. They take an age to perform after the first shoots appear but I'm really pleased with them now. Here they're rising above the Eryngium and sitting amongst a 'mist' of swaying Deschampsia.

Difficult to get a good shot of these two Clematis viticella from ground level. This one's taken from the bathroom window. Glad now I repeatedly tied the young shoots onto the top of the arch.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
Pots on the patio. Left to right - Panicum virgatum 'Prairie Sky', Miscanthus sinensis 'Purple Fall', Thalictrum delavayi 'album', Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln'. The ground-cover plant encroaching around them is Persicaria affinis 'Darjeeling Red'
