  Thank you @jamesholt, it’s in full sun until mid afternoon.  I do water it every day unless there’s been a lot of rain.

  Those lilies are splendid! I had read your post too fast and at first thought your "new hip" meant some sort of new photographic equipment. I need to revise my English basic vocabulary.

  The best performing plant in my garden is the one I am actually not looking after.
  
  

  It seeded itself between the patio slabs, waters itself and even arranges itself into a pretty bouquet. 

  
  

  It’s just there, enjoying its independence and flowering its socks off. And I find the flowers stunning.
