Lovely photos! You guys have shamed me into putting my gardening tools down and getting my camera out.
This is the arch in the back garden covered in a blooming Clematis viticella 'Madame Julia Correvon' (which normally isn't flowering this early). As you walk through, the intense perfume of the Philadelphus asaults you.
This is one of the island beds in the front garden, dominated at the moment by Anthemis tinctoria 'E.C. Buxton' but with a support cast of Eryngium 'Big Blue', Agastache 'Blue Boa' & Deschampsia 'Schottland' wafting gracefully behind.
Closer view of the Eryngium and the gradually opening Allium sphaerocephalon spikes rising above.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
I've been quite taken with spuds this year , best looking spuds I've grown with the dark stems and seemly larger flowers I can see through the Kitchen window . Finally got a Eremurus to flower I did lose one out of 3 over the winter so will add more this autumn , I were going to give up on them after this year .
The North-East corner with Ligularia stenocephala 'The Rocket' at the back
From bottom to top: Phormium 'Dark Delight'; Hydrangea paniculata Sundae Fraise; Lavatera Rosea
The East border, looking South
The East border, looking North. Penstemon 'Garnet'; Trachelospermum jasminoïdes; Tradescantia x andersoniana; Geranium Dreamland 'Breamdream'; Hoheria stardust; etc.
Some shades of purple and magenta from around the garden today:
Dahlia Marcel Dassault with heavily pollened bee!
Sweet Pea collection with special feature of Dr Robert Uvedale, seeds very kindly provided by @Fairygirl! Also, Matucana, Sweet Caroline and Serenity Remembered.
Revived Hydrangea, one of the oldest plants in my garden!
View across the front garden. Only seems like a couple of weeks ago it was all bare but for a few daffs & tulips! If we ever move, Anthemis (the yellow flower in the foreground) will be the first thing I plant.
