I’m gonna have to dig out my actual camera because this iPhone doesn’t do gardens and plants justice unless you use the macro lens.
I’m gonna go out over the weekend and take some close-ups etc.
Two women were peering over the wall this evening pointing at my plants.
I went out and we chatted for about 20 minutes. I’d never spoke to either of them before. One of them loved the Escallonia Red Elf which I planted 2 years ago and it’s finally peeping over the wall and is flowering like mad for the first time.
The pleasure it gave me that my garden gave them pleasure was immense.
For someone who never had a garden until April 21 I’m quite chuffed so far.
I have been sitting in the garden in the evening in the last days. Being able to sit in short trousers and just a t-shirt is such a rare time, one has to seize the moment. Yesterday, I took the camera with me after seeing such a variety of insects over the day. Even the first butterflies arrive. Only the tele/macro lens allows to see details that we hardly spot with our eyes. Can you see some white spots on the Zinnia? It would have been easy to remove them in my editing program.
If somebody knows the name of the wildflower plant below which now starts to open its flowers, please don't hold back.
This is the beginning of the Fountain White Delphinium.
A Campanula "pers. alba"
The Echinacea start now
A Hollyhocks
The Giant Alliums open now.
The Knautia is in demand.
I realised yesterday when I looked at the taken pictures that the white spots are the amount of pollen on a plant and they tell me the demand.
Taking a picture of the Common Sorrel is difficult, first a Damselfly that distracted me and now these little ones. Before somebody thinks about using a spray or squeezing them off, they go away on their own or something takes care that they go.
The smaller Foxtail lilies start flowering. Whereas the others have the usual form and shape, this one is a not so developed, but looks still pretty.
The Linaria Lilac Time, which flowers in light colours this year.
The Achillea starts flowering
I'm happy with what I have archived. I start now thinking about winter and next year.
I sent seeds to someone in the forum last year. If you want to have seeds, drop me a message with your postal address and you will get them as soon as they are ready.
