@steveTu I don't understand why anybody believes there is a 'Caring God' out there somewhere.  Where is the care when people like Putin are allowed to massacre people in another country who are just trying to live a peaceful life?  That's just the most recent example.

I understand where you are coming from, but it's not God who invaded Ukraine. If God intervened in everything, then mankind would not really have the free will he permits.
I believe in God, but regularly question what happens.
Why does he allow death, illness, etc? Why does he allow so many to cause suffering to others?
There are times when we have to accept that certain people are evil, or misguided.

I ordered some goretex leather walking boots from a well known British brand, for less than half price in their sale, including postage and packing. Phoned them first to double check that they were still made in England, ordered them on the 28th, and they were with me on the 31st! Very chuffed!

Noticed a couple of snowdrops are in bud in the garden, it's a sign that spring is around the corner( though we may well get more wintry weather first), I always look forward to the spring bulbs giving the garden and local woodlands early season colour.

I can't remember the title of the thread about repurposing stuff so I'm going to post here what I think will be a good idea for me.
I've got a spare calendar ( came with Sainsbury's mag.) I've pinned it to the side of the fridge and I'm putting food use-by dates on it . With any luck I won't come across any more forgotten food in the fridge.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Good idea @B3. I've decided to write the date  one new bottles of cosmetics/toiletries and try to monitor when they should be ditched. My daughter gave me some for Xmas so I've just chucked some old ones out - they were probably pre-covid ones!

Do toiletries actually have a use by date?

I keep a few permanent marker pens in the kitchen. I write the date opened on the lids, helps to make sure perishable foods get used up.
Haven’t seen use by dates on make up, but have read that you should discard them if their smell changes! Writing the purchase date on the pack seems like a good idea. I don’t wear make up that often, so I could easily have stuff sitting around for years!
