Me too, @B3 - I like to keep things simple!
North East Somerset - Clay soil over limestone
  • I absolutely agree with this …

My exact words to OH last night were “how marvellous to have a Dr we can salivate over” 🤭 What a star they’ve found!!! And with Russell T Davis’ writing … The Dr is back and  better than ever … ❤️

For me the best Dr of recent years was Christopher Eccleston.  It was a great shame that he only did one series.  He's the only one, in my opinion, who hasn't hammed it up to the n'th degree.  I haven't watched again since the first couple of episodes after he left.  I can't even remember the name of the person who took over.

Until this new one Christopher Eccleston was also my favourite of more the recent incarnations … it’s early days but I think that in the future the Ncuti Gatwa Dr may be spoken of with the same affection and regard as Tom Baker 😎

I last watched it back in the days of David Tennant when his assistant was Rose played by Billie Piper.
I did have a look when he returned in the latest series but only for a few minutes. I must say the budget has certainly increased.
Am l right in thinking there's a tie up with Disney+,  hence the amazing special effects?

In other reasons to be cheerful, the sun is shining  :)
  • Yes @AnniD Disney have made a big investment… it promises well …

I remember when I enjoyed watching Red Dwarf. The scenery shook and I don't think there was  canned laughter.
Anyway, a shedload of money was chucked at it and it was no longer worth watching.

I gave up on Dr Who when Sylvester McCoy took over the part.  For me he was a lousy actor and even his comedic timing was bad.  I watched when Eccleston took over and really enjoyed his portrayal.  I'm afraid that for me, David Tennant over acts in most things so I didn't watch any more.

  • Tom Baker was my Dr. Not watched it since he left.
