Been to have follow up X-rays and then to see the knee surgeon again today. 1st knee done a year ago and second knee 4 weeks ago. All looking very good so just need a follow up X-ray in 2 years and to continue physio till I have full bend and stretch in 2nd knee.
The hospital is huge, clean, spacious, well laid out in terms of having associated specialisations in the same area - knees and hips; feet and ankles; spine; hands - with dedicated X-ray and MRI etc scanners. Friendly, competent staff at all levels. It's been rated 2nd best in France. It is public service so not private but can be if you want.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Last night I found the top of my hair was all stuck together with smelly sticky stuff and I couldn't think for ages what it was or how to get it out. The penny dropped so to speak after a while and i realised it was the resin from pine cones, where I had been working and kept knocking my head on them! I tried soap, then hair shampoo to no avail, the next thing was washing up liquid, yay! it worked a treat, also made the hair very soft!
@floralies, I thought you were going to say it was bird poo! That happened to me once in the S/M carpark when I got done over by a flipping seagull. All over the car, back of my raincoat and when I got home, put my hand up and discovered it was all over the back of my head as well - absolutely revolting! Glad you were able to wash yours out.
Sorry, that should be on the other thread!
Mt RTBC today is that I managed a little bit of gardening with the aid of my walking stick in one hand and a lightweight pruner in the other. One of my roses had fallen partway over the path and was really annoying me. OH came to pick all the debris up although I was managing quite well with a pick up stick. Then I found one of the thalictrum's was leaning over the lawn so was able to tie this back to its metal trellis support. Really, really pleased to get some fresh air and sunshine, makes such a lot of difference.
Took the car today for some planned maintenance, the garage had given us a quote for the work at the end of last year, but when we finally got round to booking it in, they advised us that the price of the manufacturers parts had gone up by £30. Not unexpected after 8 months, and not a problem. Went to pick up the car, and found that the manufacturer is now supplying the parts as a kit, rather than individual components, so our bill was £56 less than quoted, and cheaper than the original quote! And how honest of the garage to pass on the saving, and not just pocket the difference, we would never have known! They will be getting more of our business in the future!
