Thanks all.   I've been building up the home-made decs for the last few years as I can't easily get to German Xmas markets any more and, round here, they only seem to have the bog standard flimsies made in China.

I love your gardener ornaments @LG_.   I shall have to try and find 4 lots for us - gardening, sewing, cooking (Nigella has some good ones) and golf for OH, tho maybe that last is a stretch too far.

The Skandi tree is made from canes from our garden and gets hung up in a large closet for most of the year.  The first editon was made from branches but was tricky to get to hang level and didn't roll up for storage.   The second edition was easier but still a fiddle to tie the layers to hang level so worth keeping if you can.

  • We keep our Dec's from year to year in boxes in the loft. This years extreme heat caused some to deteriorate.  With the wreath we hang on the front door , several of the pine cones had to be re-glued into place, not as easy to get them back on as all the craft people make out with their demonstrations of how to make them in the first place.
