I prefer a traditional tree but this is a space saver for us. We built it last year, the one that served us for decades is now too heavy to take down from the loft.
@AuntyRach your little tree is a little less little this year!!! Looking good ๐ think we should have annual progress reports and maybe a height measuring line in the wall behind it.
@BenCotto, that looks magical! Very cozy and welcoming..... Any mulled wine on the stove? I'm sure we could all make it round! ๐
@coccinella I think your tree is beautiful! A really festive display! I love how you can still have a good size tree if you just go 2D instead of 3D! ๐
I remember as a child (probably early 1970s) myself and my two sisters were sent out to the local woods to pick bluebells. We do found none, but returned home with a small Christmas tree each. When questioned by our anxious mother, as to where we'd got them , as innocent children, with no knowledge of ownership (except of toys!!), we replied that they were growing in the woods - in large numbers, in lovely straight lines. Loads of them!! My parents planted them in the garden, rather than expect us to return and replant them. We had beautiful Christmas trees for a number of years. No doubt my parents had words with the local farmer, and reimbursed him accordingly, since my Dad was the local Minister!! Children!!
We haven't got our Christmas decorations down from the loft yet - it's currently too cold to go up there!ย But the hoar frost has decorated the shed for us...
