Good morning all. Hoping for a quiet day today itβs been manic here. Work is extremely busy and Christmas shopping is at its peak for me. Lovely to see that lovely wreath @Ante1 to remind me of the peace and beauty of the festive season.Β
Morning everyone, sorry not read back. Hope you're all well. Sending hugs to @Ladybird4 @Ante1 love your advent wreath. Very festive and so pretty. It's pouring with rain again this morning. Our garden is very soggy.Β We have our gorgeous poppets coming this afternoon.Β Β Take care everyone.
Lilyenjoy the poppets. Β LB sending a big hug. Wishing everyone well. Β Itβs rained overnight and I put Lilys to on early. Β Iβm yet to wrap presents and must set some time aside. Β
Morning everyone, Lovely advent wreath @Ante1. It looks very festive. Mine is set up ready now. I always think once itβs up, the days just fly past to the big day. Today, I plan to write out some cards ready for the post, which will certainly be hit and miss during these coming weeks with all the strikes planned. I think people will either get their card very early or very late. Looks a lot greyer this morning, though for the moment it is still dry. Time for breakfast so Iβll sign off for now.
well Β I have done very little this morning and I am tired . I am going to read my book and chill out for a while .Hope everyone is having a pleasant day .
Afties all. Β Slept in this morning after a funny night last night, woke up burning hot and burning up, couldn't breathe so was up in the night trying to cool down.....slept in this morning. OH was woken up by something squeaking and banging and has discovered a this morning, that the winds must have blown( somehow) the gas box door open which was swinging and banging against the wall. Nose still running( have done a covid test, negative) so something is a foot but just taking its time coming out.Β SGL ,lovely to see you .Hope you have a lovely time with Poppets this afternoon, they are always a joy. Rosie, nice to see you too. Hope you and Alfie are keeping warm, is your shoulder heated shawl in use. Debs, you've got an interesting day lined up there, enjoy the show tonight and enjoy some piece and quiet today.
We went to church, but not in church, it was in the rented church cottage in 2 rooms. Vaulted ceiling in the church needs repairs so the church is closed. There was a bring and share lunch afterwards with wine and chatter.
This afternoon we watched an old 1960 film, School for Scoundrels. It made us laugh and there were people like Ian Carmichael, Terry Thomas, Hattie Jacques, Alastair Sim - all looking very familiar. Shows how old we are! But men's attitude towards women did seem weird.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ante, your team are about to kick off. Luka Modric is getting a lot of positive comments from the BBC pundits. I think I might watch a little bit of it - well 'til I get fed up!*
Debs, enjoy the drag show.
Lovely to see you SGL. I just know that you will have a fabulous time with the poppets.
Rosie, how are you doing? Not seen you for a while. How is Alfie? Its really nice to see you too.
Hazel, I think there is a rather severe cold doing the rounds at the moment. Keep yourself warm and stay indoors.
* Good grief Ante, I started typing this post and before I knew it Canada slotted in the fastest goal ever against your team. I do hope that is not a spoiler for you!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hello Busy, you snuckered in there. Those old films certainly do raise a smile but I get really hacked off with the attitudes you have commented on. Those were the times we lived in then. Film makers would not dare do that nowadays.

LB, I watched match with few breaks, and must say that after first shock, all ended well. Believe me, I don't care too much about this world cup. It all look fake to me, only my opinion. Must say to Canadians, revenge is dish best serve cold. π
I have another cup of tea, and must make homework for tomorrow. Wife of my late neighbor called today, and funeral is Tuesday at noon. She knew the day, but they notified her about exact time just today.
I'll take advantage of this situation, and while I'm there, maybe I'll visit Christmas fair in city center and few shops.
