I've just got hold of Tete a Tete daffs on Wilko's 3 for 2 offer. Thought I'd plant them in a row where I've just dug out a dwarf box hedge at the bottom of the lawn, facing the house. On second thoughts, that's facing north - do I remember reading somewhere that daffs follow the sun? Oops!
I’ve not noticed our daffs following the sun, @Lizzie27, we have lots under a walnut tree and they face every which way. Some face the sun and some have their backs to it, I remember noticing last year when I was picking some for the house
If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.”—Marcus Tullius Cicero East facing, top of a hill clay-loam, cultivated for centuries (7 years by me). Birmingham
I have tried iris unguicularis a couple of times and failed miserably. I love them. Used to have them in my previous garden where they thrived. Planted 3 large containers with tulips, and a trough with narcissus last week. I have lots of hardy cyclamen in flower at the moment, also nerine sarniensis, I also planted a bowl of dwarf iris. Must repot my bowl of hoop petticoat narcissus. They seem to like extremely gritty soil.
