  • Evening all,  crumbs 5 pages in already.  We had a late night yesterday,  the lad from over the road was having his 21st birthday party,  he came to tell us a week beforehand so we decided to go out. Went in to them there bright lights, and saw Jersey  Boys at the Trafalgar theatre.  Good fun. Got back around 11:30 , the music was quite load as we parked the car but indoors not bad at all.  The music stopped dead on midnight as promised,  what a nice lad 👦 👏.
I  too have been picking cooking apples, doing my annual stunt of frightening the neighbours by climbing into the tree for some of the more difficult to reach ones. It's an old Bramley that was planted by the house builders, it's been pruned into a nice open centered bowl shape so it's easy to get in and  stand up to pick all the ones you can't get from a ladder up the outside.  In spite of the dry summer some are impressively big.

How nice of the birthday boy to warn the neighbours, and stop the noise as planned. Easier to put up with a bit of inconvenience when someone is a bit thoughtful.
Lazy day, still headachy, so didn’t do much apart from cooking lunch, and watching OH grumbling over the Grand Prix.

I’m glad your day was ok Hosta.   It reminds me of going back to work after maternity leave (many years ago). 😁

    Good morning all.
I picked kale and chard this morning and a small bowl of raspberries.
    A quiet Monday today hopefully.
I also picked this rose and put some kale next to it
