Looks as though a lovely blue sky day is coming up @Dovefromabove.
Take care of yourself @Pat E, I hope the headache has gone.
I'm back home. Stopped at the big GC on the way home and bought snowdrops, more cyclamen and grape hyacinths, so I'll be planting them this afternoon.
The GCs are aged between 1 and 8 so not everyone needed their bottom wiped! Eleonore (3) said she didn't like Melissa who was taking over from me because she's fat. Melissa arrived and was sylph like and pretty! Breakfast was quite chaotic. They all said they wanted hot chocolate and strawberry syrup. When Mummy rang she told me that the strawberry syrup belonged to Daddy and forbidden. I had been taken advantage of!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Still got the b.. headache, but trying to ignore it. Just watched the first episode of a new Shetland series. It helped take my mind off it for a while. 😁
I love Shetland @Pat E! Hope it worked and took your mind off your headache. Lovely pics @Dovefromabove. I couldn't sleep last night so started reading The Salt Path. Can't imagine hiking all around that coastal path, up and down the cliffs, with v. little money and no food. You are having a better time of it! We're off to a restaurant in Norwich this evening with the family for a belated family celebration of OH's birthday. We're going Italian.
Thank you @chicky for starting us off for October chats.
Think I’ve caught up on some sleep this weekend.
Just back from seeing MIL and the dog. We have brought home ‘take-away’ Sunday lunch which we will heat up for this evening.
This afternoon’s jobs are to to oil the wooden front door and then pick some apples (cookers) to divide up for work mates etc.
Have a lovely day all, whether you are on holiday (most of you?!), working (just Hosta?), shaking off feeling unwell (quite a few of you) or just pottering about.
I can't even imagine trying to look after 5 small grandchildren @Busy-Lizzie, I could hardly cope with one. I think I much prefer them now they're older.
Lovely view Dove. My sister and her partner are on holiday right up in the wilds of Scotland, overlooking Mull. Drove up in one go from the East Midlands yesterday, must be nuts! Not my cup of tea, too isolated.
I've been busy repotting last year's tulips and dividing a potbound Sarcoccoca. I found it quite exhausting as the compost was down where we park the car and not at the top of the garden by my potting table where it should be. Necessitated 4 or 5 trips carrying half a bucket at a time up the steps, then up the slope. I also covered over the empty raised veg beds with sheets of cardboard to stop the weeds growing over the winter.
Enjoy your evening out @didyw. Hope poorly people feel better soon.
