Thanks @rossdriscoll13 . "all roses should be planted with the graft 50cm below ground level" 🤨🤔

Some factual inaccuracies and dubious observations aside, it’s always interesting to read other’s experience and opinions, so thanks for that Ross. We could all produce a different and more comprehensive pros and cons list of each rose, of course, so always worth seeking the real lowdown from those that grow them.

  • @Eustace @Nollie can I just say I didn’t write this I found it online, written by someone else.  I spotted the ‘50 cm’ mistake.

No problem; it should be 5 cm, I think

@Marlorena there is no cure for that moasaic virus isn't it? Did you have to bin it? Does all the leaves eventually gets discoloured?

At its worst it can cover the whole plant, but on mine some leaves here and there were affected. It didn't bother me too much and it can come and go, disappearing over time or reappearing..  I think it's the first time I've had it to my knowledge as one doesn't normally see it on UK produced roses..

No cure, .. it was more the rain spoiling those delicious white flowers more than the virus..

The rootstock gets virused and passes to the rose.  I understood from TCL they import from Serbia - why they're so cheap I expect - so one has to take a chance as to quality of rootstock used, which they advised was probably 'Pollmeriana'...

It wouldn't stop me ordering from them again, it was the only one with the issue and I got quite a few roses at the same time .. and at those prices who can resist..
