    @cooldoc yes sweet Juliet stems were little shrivelled and blackened with little white fungus on them . I have called them to complain and they’ve said to cut back all the stems back (really short) in spring and they will grow back! I have removed all damaged stems and they are ok now. Your rose seems to be dried out much more than mine  :/

    I think it’s worth if you raise a complaint and see their response.

    Meanwhile I have Thierry Marx and Rawchor in my wish list and will place an order next year. Please post how they’re performing this year.

    @cooldoc, yes raise a complaint and follow up. Mine was with all dry brown stems though root wasnt as much dry.

    But keep it potted and dont throw away. It might come back to life in spring. My TP? survived.

    Great to see all the rose orders coming in, some interesting ones and lots to enjoy vicariously. Just as well I have no access to the sales..

    I won’t be ordering from Dewilde again, maybe a paper bag is ok for local deliveries but not international. I think it was pure luck I got my replacement roses from them in one piece.

    I must agree re the new DA stuff, Marlorena, the Vitax Azalea suits me and my soil better and I’ve just ordered several 0.9kg packs of it for £6.15 each inc. free delivery.

    Your pic just loaded for me properly, @cooldoc. I'd be unhappy, too. Having gone to all that trouble to graft and grow and sell these roses, you'd think they would wrap the roots properly for shipping. Even some clingfilm would work

    @cooldoc
    I've just noticed all your bare roots, well they look all ok..   looking forward to seeing Huddersfield CS as I've heard a lot about it..
    Some interesting choices, we have much to look forward to this season..

    @Nollie
    I've just ordered 2 as well..  I like to stick with something that works for me..

    I think if I had a lot of potted roses, as Tack does and with such expertise,  then it almost conforms to the desired NPK ratio for pots of 3-1-2..  which would be 18-6-12..  so it's a little short on the potash but tomato feed would fix that of course..
    They must know it works but it goes against the grain for roses in the ground.. so we look forward to experiences with this product.

    Thanks everyone, will complain after giving it some time in the pot..

    those bare roots were from TCL Marlorena.. most were great, but one of them had just 2 tap roots.. looked so bare.. but plants overall were looking much better than the Dewilde one..

    Only thing left is to tackle the bug problem somehow..

    Reading all this pruning talk is making my fingers itch for my secateurs!

    I usually do the big prune mid-Feb but I did cut off some long octopus canes from climbers last week as it’s been so windy.

    Im most looking forward to pruning and training Lady of Shalott. It’s going to be a big job but she’s in an interesting shape and had a lot of growth this year.

    Im least looking forward to trying to sort out Ghislaine as she’s incredibly difficult to reach now in the corner. I saw a David Austin post about growing climbers in pots and recommended GdeF for that - had her right over and around a seating area.

    Id certainly never put her in that position she’s vicious! Caught me more often than any other.

    @Mr Vine Eye ,  I thought GdeF was supposed to be thornless!

    My Jasmina climber is the worst one I've got.
