    I agree! Really love it.

I think I will order Garden Glory from Harkness unless anyone can dissuade me... has anyone good or bad words to say about it?

BTW the code HARKNESS10 gives you 10% off their bareroots at roses.co.uk  :)

They sell both Chandos Beauty and Cream Abundance, @Fire

@Victoria Sponge the Grosvenor House bareroot I planted last November, which was looking quite sickly at that time, has thrown up a lanky shoot which is more than 7 feet high now. So I hope it will do well for you.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Hello everybody, long time I’ve not posted here, but always read everything.
Very pleased to read from @Marlorena, get well soon! And you all take care. None of roses put out flower since last month, but I didn’t deadhead so I think it’s normal.

i received my 14 bare root roses from TCL and… never again, lol
specimens were very good, but I broke my back truing to plant them all before tonight, as we had 3 sunny days and then it’s forecast a long raining period.
I ended up pitting the last 2 bareroots in pots as I couldn’t possibly dig their holes.

I hope Reine des Violettes and Royal Celebration will manage till next Spring to be planted in the ground. Lesson learned: I’ll never ever buy again so many bare root roses at the same time, I mo that strong and young anymore!

I can’t wait and see how they will grow, as I planted them a little random so I don’t really know how they will look like once they hopefully flower. I suspect I will have to do some moving.

i’ve seen picture of Smudge and a lovely Basset Hound(?), I’d love to have a little pup here, you’re so lucky.

@Mr. Vine Eye can I ask you where did you get the vine eye in your photo? It seems impossible for me ti find something similare here. Thank you.

Great to hear from you @dabolem. I sympathise, it’s hard work planting a big order of bare roots. I inevitably end up putting most in pots and overwintering since I am never prepared. I’ve ended up with 16 from 3 different suppliers. So much for downsizing, I just don’t have the willpower to resist!

I got my vine eyes from Bauhaus, do they have stores in Italy? Also usually available from hardware shops (called Ferreterías here) or agricultural/fencing suppliers.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Stunning bloom, Nollie. Really stunning. Perhaps I won't chuck my Ebb Tide out. It's now sitting in a pot, a half-dead spindly mess. But it could be heeled in somewhere.🤔

Lovely to hear from you @dabolem. Well done on your bareroot heroics! I had three come today, and I wish it were the last.

Because Trevor White sends out such huge root systems, I kinda need a bigger bucket! Lisa (Poulsen), Pretty Jessica and Graham Thomas.
  • Oh @Nollie, Nollie,
Just when I had finally reconciled myself to not getting Ebb Tide cos it's a capricious little b*gger, you go and post that...
    Not good, not good,
You've set my mind a churnin' again
    Ohmmmmmmmmm...
Just another day at the plant...
