I agree about Soul, cooldoc, immediate 5/5 from me. I don’t have Augusta Luise/Rachel to compare tho. Likewise some rave about Harlow Carr but it had zilch fragrance until year 4, when I finally got a weak rosy whiff. PAoK had reasonably good fragrance from the start. Some of the roses DA has junked over the years, like my new WS2000, have been very floriferous and instantly emitted a deliciously intense damask/fruity fragrance.
There is no such thing as an average nose though, I’ve yet to detect the tea fragrance (Graham Thomas? Nope, nada) while others can’t detect myrrh. I get the damask or fruity notes very strongly (Rose de Rescht, Soul, Palais Biron, most old Austin purple/reds) whereas they pass my OH by. She had the cheek to say The Prince smelt faintly of cat’s pee!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Been pruning long canes here and tidying the ones in pots as the wind and rains been awful. All my bare roots have already arrived, very early. 2 ground planted and growing away, 4 in nursery pots for now till grounds prepared. Few roses out still, especially LOS and brother cadfael. Picked a bunch to gift mum and some for myself before the rain wrecked them!
I am utterly charmed by my new Julia Child rose. She is just so cheerful! I'm glad I situated it where I can see it from my kitchen window.
And here's a double "red" knockout - not actually as pink as the picture shows but certainly not a true red, either. Truth be told the color's a bit gaudy, but I needed something big and bright for that spot. And for $5 I couldn't pass it up. Leaf-cutter bees love it!
Very professional bouquet @JessicaS, cellophane and all.
I’m glad you like Julia @SYinUSA, one of the very best roses from Weeks, I think. Just wait until it’s bigger and smothered in blooms all summer long.
Soul opened today, a bit blurry in the wind:
Stormy Weather (Princes Sibilla de Luxembourg):
Mme. Isaac Pereire was on my watch list but I’ve decided to keep it and grow as a climber rather than a shrub - some roses just say no to the latter! So it’s currently in pre-training while I make a long raised bed with a trellis in the middle. The plan is to grow it on the east side of the trellis with Blush Noisette and Blue for You on the other side. It’s going to be fun transferring it to it’s new location!

Not feeling well for last couple of days. Caught some viral infection or flu. I was waiting for half term to finish and then start on garden tidy project but I am feeling so awful I folded laundry after 3 days hanging in front of me
That is a really good indicator of the real colours of that trio @Nollie, at least of mine. But I can't photograph them accurately at all.
I think my Knockout is the same as yours @SYinUSA as gaudy definitely covers it. I really like mine, easily admired from afar and can take wind, rain and Autumn without slowing down or showing disease.
Welcome @HarryWhite, what a fantastic view and a fabulous rose-filled border to be.
Just had an email from Ashridge Nursery to say that my bare root GdeF is due to be delivered tomorrow. Funny that, because I only queried a possible delivery date with them yesterday!
Hopefully the weather's going to be a bit better tomorrow so I can dig a big hole. Ground's already prepped.

@purplerallim totally agree... some little fruit trees would be so pretty.

Awful weather here too today.
Can I ask what size your 'nursery' pots are please?
No rush! Don't venture out to measure if it's anything like here.
