This one opens out so the stamens are clear. I adore the buds too

@Fire - what is this lovely white rose?

@Alfie_ I don't know the name - it came with the house. It's possibly my favourite rose in the garden. The scent is gorgeous; the creamy meringue is to die for. For a while I thought it might be Creme de la Creme.  I planted one next to this rose to see how they matched and extend the roses along that bit of fence. I now don't think the old rose is CdlC, but it's hard to compare plants decades old and one just planted.

I have never managed successful cuttings - some roses just don't take that well. I would be pretty heart broken to lose it.

While the bad news is that the English drought has been terrible for invertebrates, like sawfly and aphids, the good news is that for roses is that there have been fewer sawfly and aphids about. I think we will see big impacts on the bird population next year, with so much less food around and so much less water. So, a small  yeay for the roses
and a big boo for climate decimation.

..thank you, fairly so.  I'm having treatment for my condition, had to up the dosage.  Hopefully I'll be better in a few weeks.  Thanks for asking..  it's not life threatening or anything I should add, just makes me feel I can't be bothered..

I've just replied on the Ghislaine thread, Marlorena, but how nice to read this update!
Enjoy the Indian summer, and give yourself the tlc that you always give to your roses. Down to 25? You wouldn't be interested in a Ghis.......no, never mind! 🌹
