@Tack I think I have lost the count of roses and I will have to check the list and update Sorry no one is appreciating the roses and their fragrances as much as I do hence sharing here!
@Nollie Swap ??? I want them gangly limbs I usually hate the big octopus stems but for this planting area it be perfect. If only I plant lady of shallot there instead I struggle reining that one in.
@Tack That's a glowing report.. yes the name, but I could live with that.. I was eyeing it up the other day. I have a photo of it fully grown in Beales's garden in Norfolk, but it seemed a bit straggly there..
@purplerallim It'll be interesting to see which of the two you prefer given the fullness of time.. 'Twice..' sounds nice..
@Perki Like others, wow, fabulous roses and companions.. I missed them earlier..
@Rojas Your 'Spirit of Freedom' looks delicious there.. I had it once but found its habit defeated me.. best grown as a climber I understand.. Reine des Violettes is gorgeous..
@Busy-Lizzie I meant to say I loved your Baroness Rothschild earlier.. not one we see too much..
'Soul' looks as though it should be in most gardens..
@Perki, that is total perfection! Like a glossy spread in a gardening book. 💜@Rojas thank you so much!!!
And thanks to everyone for the Purples and reds. The last pages since @cooldoc kicked all this off have been just outstandingly beautiful.
I will just plunk Birthday Girl here, since I don't think this one has been mentioned. No scent but grows and blooms away like a madwoman, attracts bees, looks gorgeous (almost painted) and always caught my eye in sunshine or in shadow last summer.
Thanks @WAMS I did have a thread on that border earlier this year, 1 year since I planted it up , if you are interest in more pictures etc just click on my name and its top of my discussions - front garden project.

A very old Rosa Glauca in the lawn.
