.I've just ordered Tall Story and I'm a bit confused as to how tall (and wide) it will grow. Peter Beales says 120x90 which I took to mean h x w but other sites are saying it's wider than it is tall. I may need to rethink its place.
I'm sure someone here has it so please give me some advice.
Has anyone noticed we seem to be getting more photos onto one page than we used to? or is it my imagination..
@Suesyn I have 'Tall Story'.. It can be grown in a number of ways so I wouldn't worry too much.. it can be allowed to amble over other shrubs, trained to obelisk, or on a fence as mine is, which now in its 2nd year is about 120 x 90cm.. or 4 x 3'.. I'm expecting around 6 x 5' this summer as I have not pruned it.. you can always prune it lower like a floribunda..
This is it now.. I aim to angle the canes more diagonally later on but it's generous with its lateral breaks.. I love this rose actually, it's always blooming and just the yellow/white mix that I like..
Thanks @Marlorena, I thought it was you but couldn't quite remember. I'm going to do what you have done and grow it against a fence but as it is described as thorny I want to give it enough space so that it's not a danger to passersby.
Aw, I missed white, yellow and mixed hopefully ok for me to catch up here with one of each.
Alba Maxima, hoping for a good display this year, it is at least 7' tall now (although tends to swoon somewhat as it has long thin canes)
The manner of growth is still undecided but the flowers are always heart-warming, Goldbusch
The wonderful Leda for the super-mix category. I bought the pink version this year, can't wait to see it and share it with you all (whether you like it or not)
@Mr. Vine Eye as such your pics are catalogue perfect and this year you are armed with your new cam... guess DA will be paying you to get those pics..Royal jubilee never performed for me as it did for you..
@Nollie I was glad to see your Astronomia as I planted 3 in the autumn in my garden in France. It is lovely.
@daisym When I lived in Kent years ago I had a bed full of Whisky Mac. They even won a prize for me at the village rose show.
I had lots of roses at my old house in France but I downsized 2 years ago and all the roses I have planted in my new garden are still rather immature. I haven't even seen them at their peak as last year I was with OH in his house in Norfolk. I should see them this year. What with Brexit and OH waiting so long for his hip replacement, now done, caring for 2 gardens in 2 countries is getting complicated.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Dresden Doll, cropped to include the spider. It grew in an unattractive way last year, it's second year, so I have cut it very low this winter.
Ness
Walferdange, taking up alot of air space, interesting as @Eustace says but I think also a happy and unassuming plant.
Summer Sweetheart, healthy, long flowering and fuss free. It it was scented it would be faultless, but it isn't sadly, not even slightly.
just wow
lot of my waiting list roses above....
@Victoria Sponge please feel free to post.. Summer sweetheart is indeed beautiful.. lovely border of foxgloves and alliums there..
