My garden is full of mistakes but it's handy having lots of good plant nurseries nearby or online, so we can attempt to paint a pretty picture.. that's all I do really, some years are better than others, but gardening is both sisyphean and apolaustic for most ornamental gardeners I think... It's never finished and entirely self-indulgent..

Words of the day, thanks Marlorena! Not used those before, and it’s not the first time I’ve looked up a word that you’ve used. 🙂
Apolaustic - from Ancient Greek, “to enjoy”
Sisyphean - In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was a king who annoyed the gods with his trickery. As a consequence, he was condemned for eternity to roll a huge rock up a long, steep hill in the underworld, only to watch it roll back down.
I can relate when it comes to working on my allotment 😂
Amazing bird pictures, @pitter-patter. A good reminder to leave something for the birds to eat today when there is a thick blanket of snow over everything. 🐦
Not a rose but the velvety bedding geranium (pelargonium), Tommy, overwintering on my windowsill till the frosts end.
I love red pelargoniums, usually have some here for the summer..
Always good to know I've impressed a teacher Mr Vine .. I was probably thinking of Nollie's struggles there too..
These came today from Weston's Salvias.. all very nice, cut back and I've repotted the smaller ones into larger, as I can't plant these out until May ..
That’s one of my favourite pelargoniums, @WAMS. I always try to overwinter a couple on the windowsill.
All those salvias look good @Tack. I’m afraid I’ve lost some of mine over the winter and the ones I’ve been growing from seed are not looking too healthy.
I’m growing some dark red scabious and some annual gypsophila this year. Towards the end of the month I’ll also be starting some cosmos seeds: a mixture of apricot and pale yellows this year. What annuals is everyone growing?
..that's a gorgeous Pelargonium and beautifully displayed in that rather lovely pot.. @pitter-patter
I've got some of my usual Alonsoa seeds already germinated, but that's all for me regards sowing this year.. I like to buy in some annuals locally..
@Tack I've got Merced Blue, So Cool Pale Blue, Nachtvlinder, Blue Note, Delice Feline, and La Mancha.. It's worth getting the 2L pots if available, much better.. some of the 1L are a bit small so potted those on..
La Mancha probably the best looking of those I've received.. you've got some nice choices I must say.. I was reluctant with Involucrata so left it out, now I wish I had got one..
Whilst on the subject I might as well include these I got today from Macplants in Scotland.. I always get good plants from them.. Just some Achillea, Sidalcea and Phlox.. I also got a Diascia but that's in the greenhouse for now.

@cooldoc
I presumed it meant both roses getting launched at the 2 shows, but they do that every year anyway..
Oh I've just seen @Tack 's photos above.. wow, I feel I've not seen some of those before..
Nice to have so many birds in your garden this time of year @pitter-patter I'm not seeing that many right now..
Yes @WAMS if anyone wants a white rose that's up there with the best it seems..

I’m curious about your order too, @Marlorena.
