@Nollie Quite a handiwork, I've no idea how to deal with that.. but it looks promising.. When younger, I'd have loved to have made a rockery with those boulders, I've always been partial to a rockery with alpines.. You have a nice spade and a good fork by the looks of it..

The reason I made life difficult for myself with a curved end to the new bed, aside from a large immovable boulder, is because a 3m long straight bed would narrow the path between it and the curved wall opposite it too much. It’s going to look very different once the trellis panels for back-to-back climbing roses run lengthwise down the middle. Then it really will look like a boat in full sail!
